Indian Maritime University was established in 2008 by amalgamating five of Nation’s renowned training/research institutions under the then Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Since then, the University has been striving to become a knowledge centre in the maritime domain in not only training, but also in higher education and research.

Benefit - deduction under Section 80G
To enable the donor claiming deduction under Section 80G, a signed receipt shall be issued
The receipt will contain the name and address of the University, the name of the donor, the amount donated (in words & figures), Registration number issued by the Income Tax Department under Section 80G. An insertion in the Receipt will read:
Donations made to Indian Maritime University, is deductible in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax u/s. 80G.
Photocopy of the 80G certificate shall be provided, on request.
