On 18 July 2025, the Indian Maritime University proudly inaugurated the Dr. Ravi K Mehrotra Centre of Excellence in Maritime at its Kolkata Campus. Established through a generous endowment from Dr. Ravi K Mehrotra, Founder of Foresight Group (UK) and alumnus of DMET, the Centre is dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and training in the maritime sector. With a 5,500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility and support from Ravi K Mehrotra Holdings Ltd. (RKMHL), the Centre will focus on: Alternate fuels and green shipping, AI in maritime operations, Sustainable maritime technologies. This Centre marks a strategic step toward shaping a future-ready, environmentally conscious maritime industry.
