On 13 August 2025, as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) marking its fifth year, Indian Maritime University, Kochi Campus, organized a compelling drug-awareness programme. Shri Jackson, Program Coordinator of NMBA from Kerala’s Ministry of Social Justice, delivered a vivid address outlining the severe repercussions of substance abuse and demonstrating techniques to harness the power of the subconscious mind through positive thinking to resist addiction. Under the distinguished presidency of Rear Admiral (Retd.) S. N. Alamanda, Director of IMU Kochi, the event also included a solemn anti-drug pledge taken by students and concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer session, encouraging active engagement and reinforcing the significance of awareness and personal commitment in fostering a drug-free campus and society.
