The faculty and students of Indian Maritime University, Kochi Campus, had the distinct honor of interacting with Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, during his recent visit to Kochi. A delegation of students, led by the Campus Director and Heads of Departments, engaged in a thought-provoking dialogue with the Minister. The discussions spanned key areas such as India’s advancements in green maritime technologies, the development of inland waterways, global partnerships, and emerging maritime opportunities. Shri Sonowal encouraged students to take an active role in the nation’s maritime future and stressed the importance of holistic well-being advocating the practice of Yoga for a balanced and productive life. The visit served as a great source of inspiration and reaffirmed IMU Kochi’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of maritime leaders.
